High Society in 1979 – The Birth of the Celebrity Nude

1979 was the fourth year of High Society, and to mark the fact that it was growing up, the magazine decided to expand its focus. In the spotlight? Celebrities – especially nude celebrities when they could get them…

Outside of celebrity nudes, the magazine also went deep on clothed elebrity personalities, profiling musicians like Rod Stewart, Linda Ronstadt and Roger Daltrey and athletes like Tony Dorsett and James Scott.

These mainstream personalities sat page-to-page with adult industry mainstays like Gloria Leonard, Desiree Cousteau and Al Goldstein.
