This weekend sees the U.S.A. celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
What better way to commemorate this landmark occasion than through the medium of golden age adult film – and a look back at Spirit of Seventy Six (1976), a historical retelling of made by Miracle Films for the occasion of the nation’s 200th birthday.
The Rialto Report recently acquired the surviving records of Miracle Films (whose company tagline, “If it’s a good film, It’s a Miracle!” wasn’t entirely inaccurate) – and today present an selection of unpublished behind-the-scenes photographs from the production.
The film, directed by Stu Segall, featured an impressive cast that included John Holmes, Annette Haven, Abigail Clayton, Desiree West, John Seeman, Sandy Pinney, Jon Martin and others.
Melusine recently re-released ‘Spirit of Seventy Six’ in an expertly re-mastered edition that can be purchased here.
Happy holidays!
