The Rialto Report was recently invited by Melusine, the sister company of film preservationists and distributors, Vinegar Syndrome, to collaborate on a series of film releases by contributing a series of essays. interviews, liner notes, and commentaries.
The first release we worked on was a three-film package of early New York films by Ron Sullivan, later better known as ‘Henri Pachard.’ The films included in this release are Lust Weekend (1967), The Bizarre Ones (1968), and Scorpio 70 (1970), and the package also contains our audio interview with Ron Sullivan, a new video interview with Ron Sullivan collaborator Don Walters, and a 40-page bound book with our essay on the trilogy. As always, the releases are meticulously restored from the original camera negatives.
As part of the research process, we came across a series of photographs and documents taken from the first two productions, which we present today in the form of a photographic essay dedicated to Ron Sullivan.
You can purchase Ron Sullivan: The Early Years direct from Melusine here.

Fascinating how these black and white images assume a poignancy and vulnerability nowadays.
Beautiful images, and a real blast from the past.
I love seeing photographs such as these and wondering what happened to these people…. Thanks to the Rialto people, we know so much more about them.
Thanks for this to Melusine and to TRR!
Very pleased to hear of this collaboration between Melusine and Rialto Report – the best news I’ve heard all month.
THE A-TEAM!!!
Totally agree with Jake…
Feels like topping the perfect summer cherry pie with a chilly, delectable scoop of freshly churned ice cream. It just gets tastier with every bite. Can’t wait to see what other collaborations are coming.
Amazing Teamwork and STUNNING photographs!
