Constance Money: Misty Beethoven’s Audition Photos

The Rialto Report interviewed Constance Money – Misty Beethoven herself – to hear about her experience starring in ‘The Opening of Misty Beethoven‘ (1976).

But how did Radley Metzger, using his adult film ‘Henry Paris‘ pseudonym, come to hire her?

‘The Opening of Misty Beethoven’ started life as a script called ‘Society’, and Radley was keen to cast new faces in the lead roles. His first choice for the male lead role of Dr. Seymour Love was the California-based Tyler Reynolds, and the French actress, Béatrice Harnois, as Misty Beethoven. When Harnois dropped out, Radley turned to the San Francisco-based talent agent, Harold Adler.

Adler sent Radley photos of a young actress, Susan Jensen, who was using the name ‘Jennifer Baker’, together with her personal details. After seeing the pictures, Radley set up an audition and cast Jensen in the lead role – changing her performer name to ‘Constance Money’ in the process.

There’s a scene in MARASCHINO CHERRY where one of the characters is holding a group of still
photos of Constance….maybe it was Gloria Leonard?? I think the ones in the movie are different
than these you’ve posted today. Nice stuff either way !

Wish we knew more about Jacqueline Beudant. I know she went totally under the radar after Misty and is now a dog trainer, but I’d be curious to see what she looks like today. And Susan/Constance put the women we have today working in the industry today to shame.

She looks like Taylor Swift in the movie stills.

I think people forget there was a time (in the coke saturated 70s) people thought mainstream films
and porn were going to converge. It was art, after all.
Maraschino Cherry and Misty Beethoven were the best two examples of that.

Absolutely. The in crowd was watching porn and it was making the late night talk shows. I remember watching Marilyn Chambers on Carson one night. And then this strange combination of Christian fundamentalists and feminists combined to go to war against adult.

Constance Money was one of the most beautiful of women ever to perform in adult. My girlfriend at the time took me to see The Opening of Misty Beethoven. I think she believed it would make for a most interesting evening. It did. Great memories of two great ladies, Misty on screen and Carol off.

Is the scene in the second still actually in the film? I’ve seen another still where it appears Constance and Jacqueline are making love in a hot tub, and I don’t remember that either. If there are additional scenes that don’t appear in the finished movie included in the box set I’d gladly purchase it.

After Seymour & Misty leave the Brothel & are walking through Paris with their backs to the camera , The Actress playing Misty is Béatrice Harnois.
